Lap Day (Updates)
Happy Lap Day everyone!!! It's that time of the year for the festive holiday tradition where Santa RE cuts open the Infertile and removes all the presents from her body cavity. Hooray! The festivities are a scant few hours away. I hope they find a pony in there, I always wanted a pony.
Brad and I know how to celebrate properly. For Lap Day Eve, we had some togetherness time. I got a massive migraine that was unlike anything I've ever known before, and he took me to the emergency room for an IV of major drugs to kill the migraine and send it back to hell--oh and I also got a CAT SCAN! No, silly-billies, I don't mean my kitty cats ran all over my body (although they did do that later in the day.) The CAT scan said my brain was still there and didn't have any ponies hiding in it.
Today is going to ROCK!

Hey everyone, this is me. Brad updated you all, but I am bored laying in bed so I thought I'd update a little.
Yes, I did have endo. BOY did I. Endo Stage IV, my left ovary was COVERED in the stuff. Can I get a "Daaaaaaaaamn!!"? I was a mess, and I have some butt-ugly pictures of my guts to prove it. But my RE is the bomb and she cleaned me up. My belly feels like the post-take scene from Alien where the creature pops out of the guy. Sleeping is a challenge, but the drugs do help out a lot. I even had a drugged-out delusion of my next issue of The Infertile. Now, if I can just get the energy to draw it.
We've been told (so far) that we can start trying again in a month. RE thinks (is fairly certain) that this pile of crap that's been gluing together my insides is the primary cause of my miscarriages. This harbors the question, "why didn't you people get on this sooner??? Like seven babies ago, huh?" But whatever. If it works, I am grateful for the surgery now rather than later.
I am also grateful for ALL OF YOU. Brad's been coming in to the bedroom periodically to give me the scoop on posts from all of you wonderful people. You all rock. Thank you thank you thank you.
I guess I will be getting my stitched up ass back to bed now. Thank you again.

Praying today goes perfect for you and they figure out how to get you straightened out!!!
This evening you'll be doing a Lap Dance - you'll see!
Good luck today!!!! I'll be thinking of you!
Well if they do find a pony in there, that would explain a lot! Sorry about the stint in ER too...I hear that's going around. Good luck to you and your doctor.
Good luck. I hope everything is going well!

'..and I dance dance dance, and I dance dance dance..I'm a Pony!'
I hope everything goes off without a hitch and you get some answers and you can happily move on.
Hi - this is Brad. Melissa is of course sleeping right now, she is not in too terrible of a pain. She even commented it wasn't as bad as she was expecting. The results from the laparoscopy - she indeed did have endovitriosis, quite severely. It was in stage IV, which is considered serious. Fortunately, the majority of it was cleaned up without any organs or other body parts removed (she gets to keep her arm :) ).
She will be resting up today, & tomorrow will be able to be up a limited amount of time. I'll be here through then, though I may still take off Wednesday depending on how she is feeling. But overall everything went smoothly & it was a success. In addition, the doctor felt completely confidant that this was what has been causing the miscarriages...
Good luck.

I was going to post "Good luck Babeeee", but then I saw Brad's post, giving an update.
I'm glad at least you know what the hell is going on in there. I don't know about y'all, but I always feel better knowing the answer to my pitifully moaned "WHYYYY?", even if it isn't necessarily what I want to hear. I know. I'm weird like that.
Take care dearest darling Melissa, and I hope you are feeling better soon.
And Brad? Thanks hon for the update. You're a sweetie.
Glad to hear you're all cleaned out. Hoping to hear good news from now on!

Hope you heal quickly and never have any issues with this kind of stuff again.
xxoo,
Emily
Glad you are doing okay. I also had stage 4 endo and a lot was removed at my first lap. I went on 6 months of
"zoladex" and then had a second lap. I saw the differance on video and it was amazing. Hope your endo clears up and stays away. Relax and recover over the next week.
Serena
Glad to hear the surgery went so well, and I hope the recovery continues apace. That's great news about being able to try again soon.
Juno
I'm so glad to hear you're on the mend and will be back on the horse in a month or so.
GO OLLIE!!
As pissed off as I am that it took your doctors this long to get to doing a lap, I am glad they found something! Bummer on not finding a pony though.
Thinking about you and sending you big old healing thoughts.
Yessssss!!!!!!
That clean-as-a-whistle ute is now fluffily ready for 40-week occupancy!!!!
Ya-hoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!!!!!!!!!
I am so glad that you got to update. You must be so relieved to get that stuff removed! I sure hope you feel better now AND that this corrects the problem!!
Raquelita
Here's hoping the lap does the trick. Good luck!
Great to hear most of it was removed! Now I'm hoping that was the trick you needed and things start to go in the right direction.
I feel very strange saying, "Congratulations on having endo," but it sure does explain a lot!
I hope you're feeling much better tomorrow, and that your insides are now aware that you mean business.
As far as "drug induced delusions", did you come to with a song in your head? When I had my lap, I woke up with the Kenny Loggins theme song from National Lampoon's Family Vacation (the first one). "Holiday Ro-oh-oh-ad..."That song will always cause a flash back to that "lap day".
I am so glad you have a diagnosis, but I am so sorry that it is Endo. Welcome to the club no one wants to join.
I hope with the good cleaning out you've had things will be in tip top shape for you next month.
Take it easy, don't push yourself this week. Hope you're feeling better soon.
Glad to hear it went well- hope you feel better soon and ready to get back in the saddle soon, so to speak.
I must say that having pictures of your own guts is pretty fucking sweet. Hoping the sping cleaning does the trick.
DAYYYYYYYUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUMMMMMM Ollie!*picks self up from floor where cats were circling*
Glad Dr. Feelgood got you all cleaned up and doped up too!
Love ya babycakes. MWAAAAAH. Take care, don't push yourself healing, and look forward to hopefully getting pregnant soooooooon and staying that way.
Lots of hugs for you and Brad,
Scarlett Cyn
Wow - when you have surgery, you are determined to make it worthwhile, huh? :-) I had made myself a mental promise that if your lap went well and you found some answers I would get off my butt and talk to my doc about the same - damn, I guess I'll have to eat my words now. I'm so glad that you are recovering well, your RE zapped that evil endo away, and now you're on your fresh start to success! I know the surgery is tough, and all of the time that has passed sucks, but it will all be worth it for you soon, sweetie. Rest up and take care of yourself, hon!!

I have been thinking about you all week! My internet and stupid computer are working for the moment and I've raced here to get the great news! Congratulations on your new cute ute. Im glad you didn't have a snausage tube! I hope you got some killer drugz. can you believe I hosted a wedding shower 2 days after my 1st lap? Oh, and I hope you don't have to wear a GGGIIIIAAANNNTT PPAAADDD for very long. BTW, does The INfertile have one of those for soaking up the sweat off her brow after she whips up on folks?
You should post those pics!
