Ohh yeah baby right there.

Someone said to me that the current administration wouldn't affect me on a day to day basis and asked me for proof regarding our government and women's rights. And so here's the proof that government screws women:

Congress Helps Providers Refuse Abortions
WASHINGTON (AP) - Congress made it a little easier for hospitals, insurers and others to refuse to provide or cover abortions. A provision in a $388 billion spending bill passed by the House and Senate on Saturday would block any of the measure's money from going to federal, state or local agencies that act against health care providers and insurers because they don't provide abortions, make abortion referrals or cover them.

Ok, so:
...Congress makes it easier to allow insurance companies the right to say "no, we won't pay for abortions"...
...and then insurance companies decide that a d&c is considered a "missed abortion"...
...therefore they won't pay for a d&c if they don't want to.

And that is what happened to Brad and I when we had our "missed abortion" and d&c. Our insurance company would not pay for a HUGE percentage of this. They didn't have to, and now there is proof that Congress says, "that's ok."

Nevermind that I would have likely hemorrhaged to death otherwise. Life or death doesn't count I suppose. After all, we are ONLY women, right?

Well, there are 143,368,343 women in the US. Clearly, there are plenty of spares, right?

Ugh. I'm so sorry you had to go through that with your insurance company.

Sam always says "I don't understand why women are ever Republicans. It's like deer joining the NRA."

When I heard about this I was not surprised, but still really pissed. Not only that they did this, but how they did it: let's throw this in with an omnibus bill that if it doesn't pass, it will basically shut down the government. There were many female members of congress who protested, even a couple Republicans, but of course they didn't have any effect. This is the just the beginning, ladies.

I know it's meant for other things, but it seems to fit here too:
'Bah-Humbug!'
Oh..yeah that and what a load of fucking horse shit!

It really pisses me off to see this happening. I know I don't live in the US, but it still bothers me. It seems that things are going backwards, and it most likely will not stop here!

To the kind lady who used the deer & the NRA analogy to the women who are Republicans, I must say - you chose quite an interesting comparison. The NRA is an accomplice in innocent deer killing (by your comparison). Yet, the Republicans are the ones that want to prevent the innocent (unborn babies) from being killed. I find it ironic that women who are perusing a blog primarily about someone trying very hard to conceive would be so reactionary about abortion.

Tell me please...Abortions are legal up to 24 weeks, right? Right now, a fetus can be extracted from the womb at right about 24 weeks and mature in a NICU. When do you believe that fetus is a person with rights? If it can live outside of the womb, wouldn't it be a sanctioned being?

I suggest you visit a neo natal intensive care unit and take a good look at these babies that are born prematurely at 24, 25, 26 weeks, and see if you feel any differently about killing one at 24 weeks.

You know, there are a lot of important, life-altering moments that can forever change your views on life and politics.

Rhetoric-crammed anonymous comments? Not so much.
